It took a full year to really take off, but now that it has...it's great! I bought a 4" start a year ago and now this spring it has grown to be 2'high x 1-2' across. It is covered in blossoms! I was so happy I went out and bought another.

My plants also took a full year to take off. Now they're so covered in huge red flowers that the stalks are leaning. The red looks great next to orange globemallows. Since I've heard penstemons need good drainage, I added pea gravel to improve the drainage in my clay soil.
